Goal: Write an introduction to adjectives
Note: Focus on where adjectives come from in your language.
Tip: You may need to split them into “noun-y” and “verb-y” forms.
Work focus: Solidify/Write/Share
Today the focus shifts to documenting the decisions you’ve made about modifiers in the past week or so. Write an introduction to a section on adjectives (or predicative verbs, modifiers, etc.) in your language. As an introduction, focus on writing about where they come from and what forms they may take. Consider questions like these:
- Do you have any basic adjectives?
- Can nouns be used as modifiers? (Nouns in their bare forms, without any derivations.)
- Do you have predicative verbs?
- Are there common derivations that create adjectives from nouns and/or verbs?
Depending on how your language handles modifiers, you may need to split this section into subsections, such as providing information on noun-like modifiers versus verb-like ones.
However the section is organized, make sure you provide examples of all the types of adjectives you describe in your language!
